However, there also may be a bit of rocking from the aligners if you press down on one side, or have space between the aligner and your teeth. This may indicate that the aligners don’t fit properly. While this is a common occurrence, try the following:

* Try inserting your aligners differently, starting on one side of the back of your mouth and moving to the front of your teeth and then to the back of the other side of your mouth.

* Try doing the above with both the left and right sides of your mouth.

* Use aligner chewie EVERY DAY throughout your ENTIRE treatment to help the fitting of the aligners. (Chew for 5-10 minutes the first 1-2 days. Then for about 15-30 seconds every time the aligners are placed aligners back into your mouth.)

The aligners will almost never fit perfectly at the beginning of each step. However, once the necessary tooth movement has occurred, the aligners should fit with no gaps between the surface of the teeth and the surface of the aligner at the completion of each step.

It is important that the aligners fit well before you switch to a new set. If the aligners do not fit well, then do not switch to a new aligner. There should be no gap between the tooth and the aligner. Call our reception to schedule an appointment with your dentist if the aligners are not fitting well.
Instead of clawing your aligners and trying to remove them from the front, try removing it from the back. Position your fingertip on the inside of your back molar and pull the aligner away from your teeth. Repeat this step on the other side of your mouth and slowly work your fingertips towards the front of your mouth, until your tray is
completely removed.

An aligner hook is a tool that helps to remove your aligners. Looking similar to a crochet hook, this tool is especially useful if your Invisalign aligner has attachments to them. To use an aligner hook, all you’ll need to do is to place it at the end of your aligner, gently use the hook to lift it away from your teeth and detach.

A note of caution: Be careful when using an aligner hook to prevent gum or teeth injury as well as aligner damage.

If you require help or have questions about aligners, our dentist are always ready to address your dental needs.
Gently brush aligners daily with mild soap or clean water.

Mild Soap:
Squeeze a bit of gentle liquid soap into a cup of warm (but not hot!) water and mix to form suds. Soak your aligners in the soapy water for 20-30 minutes, then rinse your aligners clean.

Clean Water:
Soak your aligners in the liquid for 20 minutes, then rinse in cool water.
Soak weekly or more often in a denture cleaner (e.g.: POLIDENT).

A note of caution: Do not use toothpaste as it roughens the aligner. Do not use mouthwash since it can discolor aligners.

* Keep away from Mouthwash, Toothpaste, Dishwasher!
If you have any kind of pets, KEEP THEM IN THE CASE AND OUT OF THE PET’S REACH. They love the smell of your saliva!!!

If the aligners are not in your mouth they should be in the CASE to avoid loss or breakage. Always keep a CHEWY in your case.

Plastics are subject to expansion and contraction when exposed to extreme temperatures. Make sure to not use hot water or freezing-cold water to clean or rinse your removable clear aligners.

We recommend using water that is lukewarm or room temperature.
